a great, engaging read that pulls themes from past and present - bought for several family members now who all rave about it. First in a series of 3, the younger kids have gone straight from book to book
A great mix of adventure and history with engaging characters and a story that kept me hooked until the final page. Can't wait to read the next one!
This was a well written and entertaining book. I don't normally like time travel stories but the history was well researched and described. It does feel like you are there.
An amazing time travel adventure, can't wait to crack on with the rest of the trilogy. Bought it for my son, couldn't wait for him to finish it so I could get my hands on it.
The characters are likeable, there’s good historical content and facts, a mixture of real life folk and imagined people from the late 1800s blend well too. A solid read all around and one I’d recommend for not just fans of the Crystal Palace but that era of Victorian society as a whole!
